When the same thing happened a year later with 2004 champion Greg Raymer, the positive side of online gambling was brought to the forefront once again as once more an online amateur poker player was able to parlay an entry fee of less than $100 into a grand prize at the World Series of Poker valued in the millions of dollars. The news media once again ignored this story almost entirely as the idea of well-adjusted people being able to play a gambling game for fun and strike it rich with no actual downside to their personal finances is not a story that fits into their particular narrative.
The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of people that play at online casinos are people that at the very least get a larger amount of entertainment out of a smaller amount of money lost when compared with the offline casinos they used to go to.
